Course Policies
Absences/Make-Up Work: When you return from an absence, you are responsible for the following…
• Turning in any homework that was due during your absence.
• Getting the homework assignment(s) you missed and updating your notebook.
• Turning in your make-up work.
Class Participation: Participate fully in class activities. Be “on the court” playing the game—not “in the stands” watching what is going on. You can only win the game if you are on the court playing.
Classroom Rules/Expectations:
• Respect and be polite to others, listen carefully, and do not interrupt the teacher or other students.
• Obey all school and district wide rules (i.e. dress codes, tardy policy, no food, drink etc.)
• Be responsible for your work. (Bring supplies and homework every day.)
• You have as many days as you were absent to turn in missed assignments.
• Cheating – ANY form of cheating will result in a zero and further consequence if necessary (refer to student handbook.) Cheating includes: plagiarism, copying someone else’s work or allowing someone to copy your work.
Homework Policy:
• PLEASE, PLEASE PUT YOUR NAME AND THE DATE ON ALL ASSIGNMENTS.
• Show all calculations and work even if you do it in your head or on a calculator.
• Homework will be assigned almost every school day (including weekends).
• Homework is due the following school day at the beginning of the period unless otherwise specified.
• Late assignments will not be accepted without penalty.
• No homework or make-up work will be accepted after test day.

Quarter Grade:

Assignments earn points
Homework
• Homework problems will be assigned, checked, and discussed daily.
• All homework problems should be fully completed which mean you have to show all your work on how you solved each question with a box around the answer.
Quizzes
• There will be at least one or up to five quizzes a week.
• Each quiz will be made up from homework problems.
Problem Sets (Projects)
• Problems sets will be a take home and investigate assignment.
• You will be given plenty of examples and ample time to complete each problem set.
Tests
• There will be a test at least every two week or more.
• The material for each test will come from class notes, homework, quizzes, and problem sets.
Extra Credit:
• E.C. assignments will vary and be given throughout the year. However, the assignments will always be educational and fun!
